Kaepernick, Nike, and the NFL: Beef?

This week, Nike released its 30th annual Nike ad, which featured a controversial character by the name of Colin Kaepernick. Colin Kaepernick is notorious for his controversial actions taken during his NFL career. Kaepernick played for the San Francisco 49ers for three seasons as the starting quarterback only to become a free agent in 2016 because of his choice to kneel during the playing of the national anthem before games. Shortly after the ad was released, the NFL released the following;

“The National Football League believes in dialogue, understanding and unity. We embrace the role and responsibility of everyone involved with this game to promote meaningful, positive change in our communities,” NFL Executive Vice President Jocelyn Moore said in an interview with FOX News.

In addition to this, Trump has also expressed his distaste for the current Nike ad. Those against it have started the hashtag #boycottnike, and have begun to take things to the extreme by photographing burning Nike gear. Since the ad was released, the Nike stocks have also dropped significantly which has raised concern for Nike stockholders. With such controversy, where do you stand?
