Drawing eyes can be tricky, and eyebrows are certainly key for helping with facial expressions. First you need to find what eye shape you want. I will be showing you my style for drawing eyes which has changed since the last post.
Eyes
- Start with a circle for the iris
- Sketch the top of the eye shape, add a couple eyelashes if you would like to
- Sketch the bottom of the eye shape, decide if you would like to have the two lines connect or not
- Fill in the color you want your eye to be, make sure you fill in with the lightest shade you will be using
- Get a darker shade and shade the upper half, with a small loop down to where the pupil will be
- Get a the darkest shade you will be using and draw a couple lines around the bottom of the pupil
- Get a lighter shade and draw some lines between the darker lines
- Get a good in between shade to blend those lines
- Draw in the pupil, make sure your eye color is well blended to your liking
Eyebrows
- Find what eyebrow shape you would like
- Sketch the shape a bit above your eyes
- Using short strokes, lightly fill in the little hairs, using the color of your choice
- Choose a darker shade and add a couple random lines
- Choose a lighter shade and do the same
- Make sure you blend it
- Do not erase any lines that went out of the eyebrow shape, it will make it look more realistic (unless you made one too long, in which case shorten it a little bit)
