I slowly blinked my eyes open to a white room. Everything was fuzzy. As soon as I could see clearly, a strange sight awaited me.

Six large worms on a string surrounded me. The orange one spoke first. “Join us, Leah.”

“You know you want to, Leah,” the blue one said, snaking closer.

Their voices surrounded me, echoing “join us” and “stay with us” over and over again. It was like a nail being driven into my head. Suddenly, everything flashed white.

I woke up for real this time, rubbing my eyes. “God. I so need to get more sleep.”

 

As soon as I heard the prompt, I looked at the worm on a string I keep on my desk and knew what I was going to write about. Thanks for reading, and have a good week!
