Michaela Scott
is an eleventh-grade student at Loudoun County High School, and is currently enrolled in her second year on the newspaper staff. This is her second year as editor-in-chief for the County Chronicle, working alongside fellow classmate, and companion, Maggie Sheridan. Michaela enjoys writing breaking news stories and feature pieces, although she will willingly write anything that catches her interest. In her free time, you can find Michaela playing volleyball on the Greenway Farm sand courts, or picnicking with her friends. She is thrilled for another great year of writing stories, including articles calling attention to the many changes our school and society has adjusted to this past year.



Maggie Sheridan
is an eleventh grader at Loudoun County High School. She is currently an Editor in Chief for The County Chronicle, alongside fellow classmate Michaela Scott. She enjoys writing news and opinion pieces. She dreams of being a traveling journalist and exploring many new places. In her free time, you can find her playing with her dogs or hanging out with friends. This will be her second year on the staff and last year she worked as a Managing Editor. She hopes to cover a variety of topics this year, with an emphasis on the many changes occurring at school.

Olivia Zavadil is a junior at LCHS, and is currently a Managing Editor on staff. Outside of school, she enjoys volleyball, photography and travel.

When Emily Banner isn’t reading or writing, she’s playing bassoon, making miniatures, and riding horses – though not all at the same time. She’s new to newspaper writing but is excited to write articles for The County Chronicle.


 

Olivia DeWan is a sophomore at Loudoun County High School and this is her first year on the newspaper staff. Olivia is very excited to write articles that uncover the truth and to inform her peers of important current events. In her spare time, Olivia loves to play guitar, write stories, and play field hockey for the LCHS Varsity Field Hockey team.


 

Liberty Harrison is a sophomore at LCHS. This is her first year working on the newspaper staff. She would like to one day be an investigative reporter, working for the Wall Street Journal. Until then she occupies her time studying, learning about true crime psychology, and volunteering with the UNICEF club.


 

Jevonte Herron, Reporter
Jevonte grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He is 15 years old and a sophomore at Loudoun County High School. He loves to play basketball and also loves to learn more about people, which makes interviewing people so good for him. He likes to interview to learn what other people’s lives are about.


 

Casey Hughes, Sports Contributor
Casey Hughes is a senior, and this is his first year on newspaper staff. He wrote and published a few sports articles last year during Intro to Journalism. He plays elite level basketball for the D1 Spartans program. He also has run cross country for three years and plans to run in February when it starts up. He hopes to use his sports writing skills for a career in the future.


 

Summer Orledge is a senior at LCHS who spends her spare time procrastinating, writing speculative fiction, creating visual art, and cuddling with her gluttonous cat named April.

She loves irony, post-irony, and meta-irony and hopes The Onion is hiring. For now, she supposes she’ll have to settle for The County Chronicle. This is her first year on the newspaper staff, and she looks forward to writing informative and entertaining feature, news, and opinion pieces.

Lorenzo Salas was born in Winchester while the rest of his family was born in Chile. His favorite pastimes
include playing video games, reading graphic novels, listening to music, and drawing. When Lorenzo is older his dream is to become a journalist, specifically investigative. Lorenzo’s favorite types of articles to right are more serious ones and satire ones.


 

Alexis Shugars is a reporter for The County Chronicle, who’s interested in writing about a variety of topics. This is her first year writing for the LCHS Newspaper. In her free time, she enjoys playing her two dogs and painting.


 

Matt Starchville is writer for the County Chronicle and also writes for LoCo Sports. He likes to play baseball and play video games in his free time. He likes to write in his free time and his favorite stories to write about are sports feature pieces.



Valerie Egger, Adviser 

English teacher Valerie Egger is the faculty adviser of The County Chronicle. While the articles are written by students, they are subject to approval by the school administration.
