37.3 Million Americans have diabetes. All of these people live in constant stress and anxiety. The thought of not keeping your blood sugar in the tight ideal range is overwhelming. Technology has been created to help the lives of these people, but more can be done. Things like insulin pens, insulin pumps, dexcom are all things that are options for people to help monitor their diabetes. However, with no insurance, these items are virtually impossible to get your hands on. These technology need to be more accessible to the American people. It is impossible to monitor and keep your diabetes in check without any of this necessary technology. This poem speaks to me because it shows how tough and strenuous it is to take good health of yourself with diabetes. Technology in the medical world has been improving and needs to continue to improve if we want to keep the American citizens safe and healthy.
