Today I had a basketball game against the Mavericks. We played this team in the AYBL tournament and lost 18-34. We had a rematch and at halftime it was tied at 14 and we looked like evenly matched teams. In the earlier game we always lost because of the full court press but this time our coach cooked up a good plan to stop the press and they backed off their press. Then I started playing a bad game and had 4 turnovers in the 3rd quarter. I had 2 travels, a bad pass, and a person just walk right up to me and just take the ball away from me. Then the team started having bad fouls such as travels on fast breaks and we started giving up easy points. We were down 10 points with 2 minutes left and that’s where we started going when our team started scoring and we brought the game to 25-30 but then we dribbled expertly and they wasted the clock and the game ended at 25-30. We are going to play them again next week in the playoffs. Another thing to note is that one of their best players didn’t come to the game but one of our best players didn’t come either so those can be game changers.
