ACL Pi-Day 2021

When it comes to 3.14, no one celebrates it like the Academies of Loudoun. To kick off our second annual Pi-Day extravaganza, Academies students and staff were encouraged to enter a sticker contest (where you can design a sticker to be distributed to students during the week long event), maker contest (where you can create anything related to pi), pie contest (where you can bake a pie), and video contest (where you can create a video about pi).

During the week of March 9th to 12th, students and staff will receive a pi-themed goody bag of stickers, pencils, tattoos, and candy, as well as opportunities to win prizes by participating in the Pi-A-Thon, a virtual team competition in which teams complete pi-related tasks. The top three winners of each contest, as well as the Pi-A-Thon competition, will receive generous prizes. In addition, just for voting in the contests, students and staff will be entered in a raffle to possibly win a $20 giftcard.

This event would not have been possible without the Pi-Day committee, which is sponsored by the PTSA, co-chaired by Dr. Gantz and Mrs. Craun, parent volunteers Prasanna Rao, Latha Nadimpalli, and Hari Sola, the Academies PTSA event chair and student Tarun Ravikumar, and Secret Math Society club members Yihong Song and Hao Gu.
