The Spirit of Freedom takes on MetLife Stadium

On Nov. 10, Freedom High School’s Spirit of Freedom traveled to the MetLife Stadium for their annual competition. This year’s performance was called The Sands of Time, and feature music from the movie “The Prince of Persia.”

“I think it was our best show of our season,” senior Sarah Bedner said. “Everyone came off of that field feeling like they had put their all into making that run perfect.”

After a long season of preparation for this performance, the band and color guard earned fourth place out of seven other bands, scoring a 93.6. Although the band faced some challenges in regards to practice space, they were still able to provide an outstanding performance.

“Kind of like how a theater kid has to take on the personality and traits of the character they play, [the color guard] has to show the audience and the judges the mood and the feeling of the music,” senior Tristan Witkowski said.

With the performance at MetLife marking the end of their season, Spirit of Freedom members should be congratulated for an amazing season.
