Monster is a great book for those of you who do not like to read or reading is not your favorite thing to do. This book is written in a movie screenplay format by the main character Steve Harmon. Interjected into the screenplay are diary entries from him as well. The book tells the story of his trial, as he is being accused of being a lookout during a drugstore robbery where the owner, Mr. Nesbitt, ends up dead. This is a powerful and thought provoking read looking at how the justice system can be influenced by people’s’ perceptions. Is Steve guilty or not? You have to read the book to find out.
