This book is written in verse and follows Mira through what should be a carefree senior year of high school, however her world is turned upside down when she finds out her parents have an open marriage and that her dad has AIDS. This books is set in Manhattan, NY in the 1990’s when AIDS was at its peak. The book is raw and emotional as Mira learns to deal with these family secrets. The book had me in tears at the end (Spoiler Alert) as Mira watches her father die and resolves broken relationships with her family.
