Never Fall Down by Patricia McCormick

What an emotional read! This book is not for the faint at heart. In it Patricia McCormick tells the story of Arn Chorn-Pond’s three years, eight months, and twenty days that he spent in Cambodia under the reign of the Khmer Rouge. Arn faces and sees so much during his time.  He also learned harsh lessons but one thing that he keeps telling himself in order to survive is: never fall down.

The way this book is written. in a child’s point of view with broken English, makes it a bit hard to get into at first but stick with it you will not be sorry.  It will give you a lot to think about and teach you about a horrific part of history.
