Griffin Patterson-Tigers Taking the Next Step: Athletes Commit to College

 

Senior Griffin Patterson is a two-year captain of the Independence football team. After years of diligent work and dedication to the game, Patterson has committed to play division one football at Towson University.

Q. What is your full name?

A. Griffin Patterson.

Q. What Grade are you in?

A. 12th grade.

Q. Where did you commit to for college?

A. Towson University.

Q. How long have you been playing your sport?

A. I started playing in 3rd grade, 10 years.

Q. What has your athletic career looked like? 

A. My football career had a lot of ups and downs. I played offensive line up until my sophomore year of high school. I was always a bigger kid, so I got stuck on the line. Once I started playing varsity football I finally got to play the position that I had always wanted to play, tight end.

Q. When did you decide that committing to college for a sport was something you wanted to do?

A. I have wanted to play football at the next level ever since I was a little kid, but I really got serious about it my freshman year.

Q. Do you have a favorite memory from this sport?

A. My favorite football memory was beating Skyline in the first home playoff game in school history.

Q. What are you most looking forward to in college (sports or academics)?

A. Meeting new people and getting to play the game I love.
