The book that I had made a prequel out of was the book named “Fish is Fish.” I was given a prompt to write either a sequel or prequel for a specific children’s book, and doing so I had made the new prequel named “Friends are Friends.”

I had chosen this book named “Fish is Fish” because of how I always had a liking for fish also, and judging the book by its cover I had taken it in almost immediately. Not knowing anything about the book and after reading it, I had a certain interest over how the characters acted with each other and their feelings. But I had one thought in my mind; How’d these two characters meet?

First, I had thought of drawing, writing and constructing everything on paper. But after being inspired by another student, I had chosen to draw and write on digital Google Slides for an easier assignment. I had taken this idea and began drawing on a digital website named Kleki, to make all of my illustrations for the prequel that I had been writing.

My Prequel follows the life of the Tadpole, telling how the Tadpole had first been lonely at the playground in school, but soon making new friends with the help of other fish students in school. Tadpole then became a role model in school, being a good student and helping others all because the fish in the playground had helped it first. The story ends out with our current protagonist in Fish is Fish meeting the Tadpole and the two growing to be the best of friends in the end.
