For my sustained investigation, I wanted to focus on the them of domestic violence with both pysical and mental abuse. I feel as though this topic is very relevant to today’s society, and I wanted to try to create work that clearly shows my idea, while at the same time straying away from cliches.
In my first sketchbook spread, I decided to focus on the anatomy of the rfemale body, so that I could have the correct proportions and shadows. I decided to draw potential poses that would be used in my final project, and drew them in pencil because I am thinking about using charcoal.

Really strong idea! I like how you chose a controversial idea and it leaves a strong impact to others. Your anatomy practice looks great! Just a tip, using shapes and lines for guidelines will help with proportionate accuracy. Love the dynamic poses!
This is a great sustained inquiry idea! It’s very impactful and I can’t wait to see where you take it. I really like how you develop your idea with beginning with studying the female form. That is a really smart plan. These are all really dynamic poses and really convey a sense of movement, however, I think you should try to lean less cartoonish (these look great though and I’m sure they’re gonna look great and this is just an initial sketch) and try and develop them more realistically. Other than that, these are really nice and proportionate!
This is kelsie btw
