100 Word Challenge 5/26/2021

I walk through the crunchy grass and shrubs, taking in all my surroundings. The water is beautiful today. Sapphire blue and sparkly, it glistened, calling me towards it.  As I walk towards the wondrous sea, I step on something flat. It gives way slightly under my weight and I jump off like a spooked cat. I hear it click. Curious, I stare at the flat stone but nothing seems to happen. Then, I hear it. The sound of grinding stone. I whirl around to see a massive pillar shaped structure rising out of the ground. I stare, unsure of what do do next.

100 Word Challenge

One sunny morning, Anna and her brother Luke were given a contest.  Whoever canoed across the river, and picked the most mushrooms, would win a prize.  They were both determined to win.  Anna’s dad blew a whistle and they raced down the river bank.  Anna hopped in her canoe, snached the oar, and paddled as fast as her arms could go.  She felt like she ruled the river.   She launched herself out of the canoe and sprinted into the forest.  As she picked mushrooms, she wistfully pictured her wrinkled grandma, who passed away last year.  Her Grandma smiled and said “Go get ‘em.”
