After years of writing some of the most popular comic books, Marvel Studios created a franchise of movies which is one of the most successful movie franchises in the world. 22 movies later, we are brought one of the most anticipated and hyped movies in recent memory, Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame followed in Avengers: Infinity War’s footsteps by trying to tug at the viewers heartstrings. If you’ve followed the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), there were a lot of heartfelt moments between characters we grew to know over the past eleven years, so make sure to bring your tissues.
Endgame starts off by exploring the emotions of what it is like to lose half of the population, especially the toll it takes on the main characters.
Speaking of the characters, there was a character, who will remain nameless, that hasn’t been in Marvel films in a while, who finally made a reappearance. And another character, who will also remain nameless, who had a much lesser role in this film than I thought, which actually wasn’t that disappointing to me. Two other characters completed their character arcs that have been set up for years now, which were two of the most emotional moments in this film.
As expected, the action, specifically the last battle, was some of the best action in any Marvel movie up to this point. It was very well choreographed, but not overdone. By overdone, I mean a bunch of hot guys and girls in really good shape doing crazy ninja flips that look ridiculous.
As for preparation for the movie, there were a lot of call backs to past Marvel movies. Personally, I enjoyed them, as I am the type of person that knows every Marvel movie by heart. However, for the average viewer that hasn’t rewatched the MCU, it can be a bit much to keep up with.
Avengers: Endgame is three hours and two minutes long, which means there is a good chance you will need to go to the bathroom. The best point to go to the bathroom is when the Bruce Banner/the Hulk is having lunch. While it is a funny scene, it is not important towards the plot of the movie.
Overall, Avengers: Endgame is a great conclusion to the first 21 movies to the Marvel Universe. I personally couldn’t have asked for a better ending, and the general public would probably feel the same way as I do.
