While exploring new ideas for my next piece, I got inspired with how the sticking notes and graphite contrast. I think I’ll plan on combining those two components, including some ink for my next piece.

I wasn’t very happy with my first semester pieces just because I always did them last minute, on the plus side I didn’t have a solid foundation of what I wanted to do. This semester I’m going to be more loose with my artwork and possibly make an artwork with my sticky notes.

During my one on one critique, I was told that I should do more pieces that combined with the girl and the helpers besides her. I’m probably thinking of doing a different girl for each piece. Do you guys think it’s ok or should I keep it consistent and do the same girl?

This is my first page and I wanted to stick with simplicity and focus more on graphite. I’m using this sketch for practice on details on shoes and faces. I also couldn’t forget to add a pop of color.

Any tips on preventing graphite from smearing?

I’ll add red to the background, but the majority of the day I have been working on the pen work for this piece.

Here’s my beginning sketches with artwork #4 for AP studio art

I will be working on this another time because I left the top right corner empty and I didn’t get a lot of details done on both bottom and top. Overall I’m happy with how the middle looks.

I’ll be coloring the outer boxes red and draw a more futuristic landscape in the background, but this is what I had so far for Artwork #5.

I’m more satisfied with the skin tone now then before. I’m planning to make touch ups with the left girl and I’ll make sure to add more details on the butterflies.
