Why Art Is The Best

I love art. If you’ve seen the title of my blog, then you would know. Today I will be writing about why I love art so much.

I first started doing “art” (drawing minecraft mobs when it was still a thing) at the start of summer after fourth grade. If you have read my other blog, Where I Learned To Draw, then you would know the whole story. Art is relaxation for me. Instead of bottling up all my emotions, I can draw them. I do not use a diary because writing hurts my hand but drawing for two hours straight does not. Drawing allows me to draw what I’m thinking of. For example, if I’m thinking of a cool idea for a dragon, I can draw it to show others my ideas.

In sixth grade, I had art first instead of keyboarding, so now I can tell you guys why it is the best! I had Mr. Green, and he roasted so many misbehaving students! In art class we had many art projects. Graffiti line art, draw a city, clay, and printmaking. In art class first we had a bell ringer. A bell ringer is a little piece of paper you pick up every class. It is the same for everybody, and it will say something like, “Oh no! Your inventor parents have created an elephant that can dance like a ballerina! Draw yourself dancing with the elephant.” Then once you draw that, you can see how others interpreted this. Some may draw the elephant holding you up by the trunk. The elephant might have a pretty pink tutu, or it could be singing! Art is really fun because you can draw cool things and see what others drew.

Next sometimes Mr. Green would have a mini lesson about 10-15 min showing how to draw a cube or shade a circle. Usually we would just get on with our project. We had out tables in groups. When we were working on our project, we could share ideas with our table mates. “Do you think this flower should be red or blue?” “I think blue would go good with the rest of the colors.” “Thanks!” I got great advice from my table mates. We would also talk about current events while we were painting or sculpting. My teacher would also play music, but not the classical music, he would play rock music! It was so fun because sometimes the radio would have ads like santa saying, “Ho, ho, ho! Merry christmas!” And we would all repeat in depp voices. Art class was really fun. Not just because art is the BEST, but because my art class was such a fun environment to work in!

How I Paid It Forward

For this blog I chose Pay It Forward. I chose this because I wanted to do something nice.

First I helped my brother. He was eating veggie chips and watching youtube on his ipad. I was in the kitchen eating some cheese when I noticed his glass was empty. He said he was thirsty to no one in particular. I normally would just get my cheese and eat it, but then I thought about how helping him will help me with this assignment. I remembered about all the times he helped me so I grabbed his glass and went to the fridge. I filled his glass with water. His head swivelled around halfheartedly. I gave his filled glass back. He smiled and said thank you. After I felt happy because he immediately began to drink the water.

Next I asked my mom if she needed help with anything. She said she wanted me to seperate the colors from the blacks and whites. I said ok and went upstairs and lifted the heavy laundry out of the basket onto the floor. This basket was for colors. The other basket had a divide in the middle for blacks and whites. I began sorting. Sometimes a white sock would be in the colors or a pair of black shorts in the whites. After I was done, I felt really happy. It was good to know I helped my mom. The chore only lasted two minutes, so I felt happy I was able to do a nice thing easily.

The last thing I did was at the park. There’s a playground outside my house that is easy for me and the neighbors to go play in. Me and a few other kids were playing Sharks and Minnows. How sharks and minnows works is that one person is the “shark”. The “minoes” stay on the bases on either side of the playground. The goal is to run across the playground to the other base without the shark tagging you. If the shark tags you, then you also become a shark until there’s only one person left. There was a girl there who was the shark. She was bad at being a shark, but excellent at being a minnow. After twenty minutes, she couldn’t tag anyone, so she begged one of us to take her place. I didn’t want to, but I said yes. I couldn’t bear any longer to have the easiness of running from base to base. The girl looked really happy. I’m glad I did that, because it made her feel good.

Stalking People

For this assignment I chose observations. At first I thought it was kind of creepy. I mean, watching people, and taking notes, weird. But I chose to do this because, let’s agree, I’m crazy, and would definitely have fun stalking people.

I chose to do this assignment  because we were going to Ruby Tuesday that day. Ruby Tuesday is a restaurant. I figured that stalk- I mean, observing a group of people at a restaurant would be fun. I could hide behind a menu, like in the movies. I figured they probably wouldn’t notice. I went to the restaurant, got a salad, and began my stalki- I MEAN OBSERVING.

My family was at a booth near the windows. The family I was stalking/observing were sitting at a table to our left. It was one of those tables in the open. I never liked those tables. I liked a private booth. There was a mom, a dad, and probably an aunt. There was a girl my age who had a little sister about nine years old. From what I could see, the mom had a salad while the older sister had some fries. When we got there, I saw the older sister on her phone. I thought, Wow, don’t go on your phone at the restaurant. But after a minute she put it away, on the other hand, her little sister went on her phone constantly. Every minute the screen’s bright light was shining on her face. I chose this group because they were the closest to us and the easiest to take notes on. I wanted to hear what they were talking about, but my brother was constantly talking about dinosaurs.

About halfway into our meal the girls left. I think they went to the bathroom, but they were gone for fifthteen minutes. After they got back, the little girl went on her phone, and the big sister listened and talked with the adults. I would always take glances at them to see what they were doing, but I think one time I made eye contact with the little girl. Eek! Then when I got my cake, (it was my birthday), my mom took a picture of me, but I think I saw the girls dad turn his head slightly. All in all, they didn’t notice me. They didn’t say anything like, “Hey, why are you watching us?” I had fun stalking people, and I will probably do it more. MWA HA HA HA HA!!!

A Real Life Castaway

If I was grounded on a deserted island, I would bring three things with me. A lighter, a first aid kit, and a book on survival hacks.

I would bring a lighter to start a fire. A lighter is very useful and I would have a hard time to start a fire with sticks. I could use a lighter to cook. I would hunt a rabbit and I could grill it to get meat. (I don’t want to get salmonella). I could also use a lighter to stay warm. In the night it will be very chilly and I want to be warm. Getting a cold is the worst, especially if you are alone. Next I would probably use a lighter for water. If you boil water, then it is safe to drink. I don’t want to drink muddy water that fish have peed in.

I would also bring a first aid kit. First aid kits can help you if you get sick, get burned, or start bleeding. On an island there are going to be wild animals that will scratch, bite, and bruise you. Also thorns on plant will scratch at your legs. These cuts will need to be cleaned so they don’t get infected, then covered in a bandage. Especially if its a deep cut. Blood loss is very bad for your health. It can make you tired, and sick. If i’m sick, then I can’t get food, and a wild animal will probably attack me. If i get sick, a first aid kit will have medicine to cure me. As I said, being sick is bad. Especially if it’s a disease. Burns are painful, and first aid kits definitely have burn medicine.  Burns can make you have low body temperature, breathing problems, and bone and joint problems.

Next I would bring a book on survival hacks. Survival hack books have hundreds of pages about how to make a raft, hunt, and cook animals. I do not have any of these skills so a book will be very useful. I love to read, so I wouldn’t get bored when reading a book on how to save my life. I am very crafty, so I would probably find a way to use the facts to help me a lot. I definitely need help in the food category. The book could tell me about poisonous berries, dangerous insects, and ways to hunt. The book could teach me how to make a spear. It would also tell me how to cook an animal, since I definitely wouldn’t know how and blood and guts are gross. So those are the three things I would bring, and I definitely won’t do anything that bad to get stranded on a deserted island.
