Warrior Cat Book Recomendation

My book recommendation is for a series called Warrior Cats. I’m sure you’ve heard of this book before but didn’t bother reading it.

The series is about four clans. Windclan, Shadowclan, Riverclan, and Thunderclan. These clans are made up of cats who roam the forest. The four clans defend their territory and hunt for their own clan. All the clans follow the warrior code, laid down by Starclan, (heaven for cats), and follow them. There is the leader, who’s in charge of the clan, deputy who makes sure the Leader is safe. Warriors fight for the clan and Apprentices learn how to be warriors.

The book starts with Rusty the housepet sitting on the garden fence wall. He stares longingly into the forest, wanting to escape his kitty pet life. After much thought, he ventures into the forest, to meet Bluestar, Tigerclaw, and Graypaw. Bluestar is leader of Thunderclan. Tigerclaw is a warrior, and Graypaw is an apprentice. They ask what he is doing and he says that he wants to be a clan cat. Tigerclaw resists, but Bluestar allows him. Bluestar gives him his new name, Firepaw, because of his flame red coat. Shortly after Firepaw arrives, a battle broke out near Snake Rocks between Thunderclan and Shadowclan, killing Redtail in the process. Tension rises between Thunderclan and Shadowclan, and Firepaw is eager to fight for Thunderclan.

I love this book, for one, because I love cats, and two because it has great fighting scenes. It’s so interesting how cats could make a society, have rules, and work with each other. When the tension between the clan arrives, it makes me want to keep on reading to find out what happens. One thing I love about books is plot twists, and Warrior Cats has lots of those. This book is great because the author researched a lot about cats, so their actions seem so realistic, (although the storyline not). I would recommend this book for anyone who loves cats, and likes great fighting scenes.

Deer, The Earth Stone Chapter 1

Misty woke up to her mother calling for her to. She opened her eyes slowly and went back to sleep, like usual. Her mom called for her again, and Misty groaned. She pulled her wool blanket off her body and got up. She stretched her wings out and felt her muscles loosen. She saw her Ice Phoenix, Crystal, sleeping on her stool.

Night owl, like me. Misty thought.

She walked to the kitchen to grab some blackberries and veggies. She saw a thin wooden plate on the table where she usually sat. She lay a pillow on the floor to lay on.

Now why would she sit on a pillow? Have a wooden plate? Have wings? Well, Misty was not a human. No, no, no, she was a deer. A deer with dragon wings, a unicorn horn, and purple eyes.

Back to the story. She sat on her pillow and ate her food while watching her older brother, Bolt, practice magic on a table, trying to lift it up. Her mom walked into the kitchen with her pink eyes shining, “Hey guys!”

“Hey,” Misty responded.

“Hi…” Bolt whispered quickly, concentrating on lifting the table. Misty’s mom, Mrs. Rose, looked at Bolt and then at Misty again.

“So do you know what you’ll be doing in training today?” Misty’s mom asked hiding a smile.

“Um, they said we’ll be doing a test. I don’t know.”

“Well, ok then. How was yesterday’s flying practice?”

“Tiring,” Misty said sleepily. “My wings hurt so mu-” Misty stopped as she saw red flying past her.

Then- BAM! THUD! THUD! She looked at her mom and saw her holding a metal frying pan near her chest. Misty glanced at the ground and noticed a red seahorse with monarch wings, a Zing. Bolt dropped the table and had it crashing to the ground after hearing the noise.

“A Zing,” Misty’s mom whispered out of breath. Now why would Mrs. Rose hurt a Zing? Well, they are known for shooting poison ivy at every creature they see, causing massive pain. “Hey, at least we got a coin out of it. Sweetie, you have to go to training soon. Pack your things, and I’ll go take this to the collector. Bolt, you too, even if your class is later it’s good to be prepared. Bye, love you!” She said as she kissed them both out the door to trade the dead Zing for a coin.

Misty picked up her plate with her magic and put it on the counter and went back to her room. She found her blue, purple, and pink dyed bag in her wardrobe. She put in her knife, a few coins, and a small wooden container filled with carrots. She swung it onto her neck and walked out of her room. “BYE!” She yelled to her brother as she walked out the door, and heard the table drop to the ground. She flew away, so she couldn’t hear his angry words at her for making him lose his concentration.

The Mysterious Benedict Society

This essay is about my Goal 2 reading goal. I chose to read book one of the Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. The genre for this book is mystery because it has a lot of questions in the book. Who is Mr.Benedict? Who is sending the signals? Why is someone sending the signals? I read this book with Teah who has been my friend ever since 4th grade.

The story begins with a boy named Reynie who lives in an orphanage. He is with his tutor, Mrs. Perumal when he sees an advertisement in the newspaper. ARE YOU A GIFTED CHILD LOOKING FOR SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES? He talks to Mrs. Perumal, and she encourages him to take the test. The newspaper tells him to go to the Monk Building to take the first test. After the first knowledge test, he is surprised to find that there is a second test, based on riddles. Then he meets Sticky and Kate as he takes yet another test. They all pass, and they go to Mr. Benedict’s house to take the fourth test (Reynie’s not surprised). There they meet a fourth child named Constance. Mr. Benedict tells them about the mission he has for them. The mission is to go to the L.I.V.E. Institute to discover Dr. Ledroptha Curtains plan.

I loved reading this book. It had an air of mystery and excitement in every page. I loved trying to solve the clues along with the characters and discovering the answers. Teah and I had fun reading this. When we met together we had fun talking about the book. It was nice because we could talk about the book and what we thought about it together. Plus, we could guess what was going to happen and not spoil the ending for each other. All in all, it was a fun time reading this book with her. I liked the storyline, and being able to share my thoughts and ideas with her. I would definitely consider making a book club with more friends from this experience.

The Mermaid War

Just for clarification our kingdom is named Luxqua. ‘Lux’ means light in Latin and ‘Aqua’ means water. The enemy’s name is Incentrix. ‘Incendia’ means fire and ‘Pistrix’ mean shark.

I held my spear tightly as we waited in a cave. The other mermaids were whispering and shaking as we waited for the Incentrix army to come into our territory. Our captain used a seaweed charm to seal the cave with seaweed. We peered through the cracks and saw the other caves filled with Luxqua soldiers covered with rocks or had a darkening charm on them. Our captain carried a gold trident and kept on whispering tips on killing the Incentrix army. I trembled and swished my tail nervously. And then we saw them.

Their tails flamed crimson red, blazing orange, and sunshine yellow. They wove their spears with razor sharp rocks on the end. I could see them looking for us. Our captain swam to the front of the line and whispered. “3…2…1…” Then he charged out of the cave like a fish seeing a shark. The rest of us filed out in the same manner. When my face brushed out of the seaweed I saw a horrible scene. Blood swarmed in the water like mist, and mermaids fell to the ground. There arms up and there hair dancing in the water as they floated down. I swam forward when I saw my little sister among the fallen and heat surged through me. Tears swelled in my eyes but I held back and began to fight.

I charged to a lone Incentrix. He twirled around and I saw a deep gash on his right arm, and his spear in his left hand. In a split second my spear split through the water at his left arm with the flat of my spear. His spear went flying away and I saw his fingers grab for it but missed the slippery handle. I then swam over him and flipped my spear upside down. I slammed the flat circle into his stomach and watches as red fog came out of his mouth. He floated down but he didn’t die. I was better than that. I just wanted to get them out of here.

I wipped around and ducked just in time. I felt a ripple of water swoosh my head as an enemy’s blade grazed my head. I aimed for her tail but she lifted it just in time. Her laugh ringed in my ears as I saw her blade come down on top of my head. I lifted my spear horizontally in front of hers to block it. With a rush of power I pushed up and her spear almost swung out her hand. I reached into by bag and felt a lumpy charm. I pulled it out and threw it at her. As soon as it landed on her shoulder it went off. Black smoke was all around her. I swung by blade at her by the sharp end and saw the black mix with crimson.

I sprang upwards to go find another when I felt my arm split open with a slicing charm. A boy with an orange tail and spiky orange hair. He didn’t have a spear, but small bags were laid across his chest and back. He reached for one near his neck and threw it at me. My tail went limp and I couldn’t swim anymore. He lunged at me with another charm that hit my head. My head felt about to split open when I blacked out.

Who Deserves Respect?

Respect. Such a powerful word. I think respect is very important. It means you have a reason the think this person is great. Maybe you have respect for a veteran, or someone who saved a cat from a fire. You can have different kinds of respect. You can have sad respect for someone who lost a loved one, or you have respect for your lost loved ones. You can have respect for someone who gets straight A+ and you want to be like them. You could have respect for someone who saved you from drowning, or someone who found a cure for a disease. You can have respect for elderly people, because of what they been through in life.

Respect is hard to describe. You don’t know how to explain it, you just know it. It’s kinda like when someone stands up to a bully, and you think they are great and would never talk bad about them. You begin to have this pride in you for them. They could be a teacher and you have respect for teaching so many kids in one day, and you honor that they work hard to teach kids.

Some people don’t deserve respect. They make fun of you everyday and get mad when they aren’t loved back. You can not talk to them for one day and they won’t talk back to you for the rest of the week. They expect you to do all the work in group projects, and make fun of you when you try to get them on track. Thy wont listen to you and call you racist and other things when you talk. They’ll call you racist over the tiniest thing that doesn’t make any sense. They try to make you feel sad. They make fun of other people and won’t listen to you when you have problems.

And they think they deserve respect.

Thats crazy.

Because they DON’T deserve respect because they’re being rude ignorant little idiots. But some people do deserve respect. And you and I are those people. People who respect others should be respected. So we should all be respected and treated fairly.

Laugh Superhero

Hello this is a poem I wrote about war and how so many people get injured or die. Many soldiers fighting get shot and never see their families again. Children, also, get pulled into war and die from a young age. I wrote this poem recently learning my dad would have to go overseas in a few months. He has to go to Afghanistan to work there for some reason. Right now he has gone and it’s hard for my mom.

I’m a superhero superhero,

I’m a laugh superhero superhero,

I see someone cry I help,

I see someone sad I help,

I see someone mad I help,

I see someone wounded I help.

I want to help others because I’m broken,

Make others laugh when I’m sulken,

I don’t want them to end up like me,

Save the kitty from the falling tree.

Seeing a laugh helps we see,

Someone is glad to be free,

And when they laugh it means that they cannot control them self,

And they let it out and feel themselves

From being happy.

Cause i’m broken from this world,

War, death, greed, comes to kill me,

Remember blankets of warmth?

Well this is a blanket of war.

Someone dies every second saving this land,

Or destroying it,

I’ll make them laugh so they forget,

That this world just wants to threat,

Us all in this Hospital room.

Yes I’m a Doctor and i see the truth,

Of why this boy cant walk the loop,

Cause of the disease it’s not your fault.

Why do they all seek war, blood, greed, and wealth?

Want to see the blood of the youth?

With their guns pointed at their knees,

And the infection along with the disease,

So as i am in this Hospital room,

I make them laugh as the guns go boom.

Organization

Order-Let all your things have their places. – Virtue by Benjamin Franklin.

Benjamin Franklin wrote this virtue among others in his journal about life’s wisdom. This virtue means to be organized. To me, this is important because one of my resolutions for 2018 is to be more organized. I want to be organized so that I can have more free time, because then I know where everything is instead of scrambling for books at the last minute. I also want to be more organized so I know I have done everything and I needn’t worry at night if I did my homework. I would like to create labels for things, like bins for each subject labeled “History” or “Science”. I am planning to form sections in my agenda/calendar so I know when certain events are. This is why I adore Benjamin Franklin’s virtue about organization.
