So for my other reading goal, I did Book Bonanza, and one of the requirements was to write a letter to a character in one of my books. Well, this character is in both of my books since I was reading the first two books in the Divergent Trilogy. It isn’t Tris, or Tobias. It is… Uriah! For people who haven’t read Divergent, Uriah is one of Tris’s friends. I wanted to do him, because I wanted to ask him how he was, considering his girlfriend and best friend were killed. Anyway, here’s the letter. In my opinion, Uriah is like Newt from Maze Runner. He’s the glue that holds the former Dauntless together.

Dear Uriah,

You don’t know who I am but, considering all you’ve been through, you probably don’t care. I know your story, I know how you lost the people you love. I also know how strong you’ve been. I know most of the focus is on Tris and Four, but you are as good as both of them. The Erudite killed Marlene. Not even a month later, they kill Lynn, too. You have lost people like everyone else, but you manage to smile and keep on going, That is true bravery, and you are truly Dauntless. Now I’m not saying that Tris losing her parents was nothing, or that Tobias being whipped by his father was okay. I just feel that you don’t get enough credit for being there for everyone, even when you had your own problems. So here’s what I think. You’re Dauntless, you’re smart, you’re Divergent, and, most of all, you are Uriah.

Sincerely,

Leo Griffin 😉
