Don’t Judge a Book by it’s Cover

Counting by 7s, written by Holly Goldberg Sloan. Counting by 7s is a book about a young girl who is forced to face challenges without her mom and dad beside her. I felt that the main protagonist, a young middle school student named Willow Chance was an inspiration since even after she didn’t think she had a purpose to still do the things she loved to do most, she still offered to help those who needed her. When reading this at I often found myself crying because I knew since this is realistic fiction, this could actually happen to someone in the world. I thought, is it ever going to get better for Willow? If I were to rate this book, I would probably give it a four out of five for the character’s strong personalities. They all had different hobbies and opinions on certain things. Which is what I like in a book I read so I can almost imagine what the characters would be like if they were standing right in front of me. For the longest time ever this book was sitting on one of my shelves in my bookcase untouched. I never would have imagined such a touching story would lay inside.
