10. Keep a Snack in Your Locker
You might want to keep a quick snack in your locker since there are many class blocks until lunch and if you haven’t had the best lunch, you could be kinda hungry. In my opinion, the best option for a snack would be gum, (just don’t chew too loud) because most teachers allow you to bring some in class but just to be safe, ask your teacher first.
9. Bring Along a Drawstring Bag
To any new student, I highly recommend bringing a sling bag because you’ll most likely have to carry around binders, a Chromebook, folders, an agenda, books, a pencil pouch, a water bottle, etc. Although you might be getting a workout for hauling all your supplies around, after a while it might start to hurt.
8. Stay Organized
You must stay tidy or else you’ll never survive middle school. Mainly your locker, binders, and folder since you’ll need to find your homework and supplies in time for class. It would also be a good idea to write down your homework in your agenda just in case you forget.
7. Get to Class on Time
Well, if you don’t want to be marked tardy for your next class, I suggest you get to class on time instead of talking to friends in the hallway. It’s also okay to speed walk to get to class as long as you follow the signs in the halls and try not to shove too many people.
6. Do Your Homework the Day it was Assigned
I find it’s easier to do your homework the day it was assigned so that you don’t fall behind and the things you learned in class will hopefully still be fresh in your mind.
5. Right School Supplies
Make sure when your back-to-school shopping to make sure you buy the right stuff. Like the right size binder and the right amount of composition notebooks. Or you can buy one of the boxes that already comes with all the right supplies.
4. Make Yourself a Group of Friends
Starting school can be kinda hard so it’s always better to have a group of friends alongside you. Preferably ones that you have most of your classes with. Also, make sure you make friends with the right type of people.
3. Keep a Schedule in Your Locker
This is a really big one since your schedule should have the room, time, and teacher for your next block. It’s also a good idea to hang one up in your locker in case you get confused or lost.
2. Practice Your Combination
If you have a spare lock at home, try locking and unlocking it so your able to get stuff out of your locker when the time comes.
1. Keep a Smile on Your Face
Don’t forget to wear a smile on your face. It reduces stress and it’ll make you and the people around you feel better.
