We all know that last Friday was the night normally every sports fan anticipates for. The Super Bowl! Yup, that’s right, the one game that brings together over 100 million people in America. That’s almost 1/3 of the entire population of the US. Some people say that the Super Bowl is like a holiday because it happens every year and so many people participate in this American tradition of football. Even people that don’t know sports watch the Super Bowl because it’s such a long-lasting tradition. In fact, more food is being consumed on the Super Bowl than on Thanksgiving because if the number of people eating while watching the game. While Thanksgiving alone is all about food and family. Celebrities everywhere come to see the Super Bowl and people talk about it all the time on Social Media, mostly after the game. This is the most watched-program in sports history and probably one of the most-watched programs ever! Companies that decide to buy commercial airtime are forced to pay about 5 million dollars just for 30 second screen time because they know it’s being viewed by millions and millions of people. Super Bowl ads are mainly the most famous commercials in history. But we’re also going to talk about this year’s Super Bowl and why most people were actually disappointed this year.

Firstly, I want to talk about the amount of action going on during the game. It was very boring. No new plays were being made by the coaches and both teams offenses are terrible. You don’t want that in a Super Bowl if both teams have decent defensive lineups, but terrible offensive lineups, then the game itself is going to get boring. People love to see touchdowns, people love to see more highlights, and people want more competition. That’s how you pipe up your audience and engage them in the game. Sean McVay is the coach for the Rams as well as the youngest coach in NFL history so far. While Bill Belichick is one of the oldest coaches who coaches the Patriots. The way they made their plays were awful, they focused too much on defense. The teams were bad too, the reason the Rams lost was that they let go of the possessions one too many times. They were being too soft and same with the Patriots, there was so much lazy defense going on and wide receivers didn’t even know how to make cuts to the scrimmage line for a wide open catch.

We didn’t see many celebrities show up to the game either. In fact, the number of tickets being sold has declined a lot. As well as the number of viewers dropping too. Lots of people chose not to go and watch the Super Bowl because people are sick and tired of seeing the same team win numerous amount of times. Also includes the same team in the countless number of Super Bowls over the past couple of years. We get it, Tom Brady might be the best football player in NFL history, no need to shove it up to our faces. The halftime show was really sad. Many people felt like Stephen Hillenburg deserved a special tribute for his astounding accomplishments in his career, and people were requesting the NFL to actually play the “Sweet Victory” song from Sponge Bob that made an appearance over a decade ago. The episode was about Squidward’s band playing in a Super Bowl and that got lots of attention throughout the years. People also used it to make Super Bowl memes.

The singers and rappers during the halftime show disappointed a lot of people. Adam Levine, who’s the frontman of the Maroon 5 and the head singer of the show got a lot of controversy surrounding him. His singing was okay, not great, but the amount of irony he showed when he took his shirt off got a lot of hate. He wasn’t merely that good, as autotune wasn’t in the mix. Travis Scott on the other hand, was a lot worse to many people. His rapping was awful now that we actually heard his real voice. Sicko mode had been around for a while now and the song has gotten kinda old now. The last thing fans want is only a 5-second clip portraying Sweet Victory as well as a Travis Scott screeching over his head. Also, Big Boi wasn’t that good either, this was probably a terrible time to make a premiere so his career is probably gonna plummet.
