met gala looks

so the met gala was on monday (may 6), since then it’s been one of the number one things everyone has been talking about. This years theme was CAMP, ¨camp is pink¨, the creator made it to be the love of the unnatural:of artifice and exaggeration. This year brought so many controversial outfits, many artists/celebrities have gone under fire for some of their outfit choices while others were praised for their extraordinary outfits.

These are some of my favorite looks/outfits

1. billy porters stunning egyptian inspired look
2. Frank oceans security guard look, this was one of the most talked about looks due to the confusing meaning behind it but this was a perfect metaphor for one of the tenets of Susan santogs (mastermind behind camp) notes on camp. ¨CAMP IS THE ATTEMPT TO DO SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY. BUT EXTRAORDINARY IN THE SENSE, OFTEN, OF BEING SPECIAL, GLAMOUROUS…NOT EXTRAORDINARY MERELY IN THE SENSE OF EFFORT. RIPLEY’S BELIEVE-IT-OR-NOT ITEMS ARE RARELY CAMPY.”
3. Kacey Mcgraves barbie inspired look, it was so creative and perfect, when i think of kacey this is definitely something i would imagine her doing
4. Kendall Jenners stunning orange outfit, it is so elegant and breathtaking but also includes camp
5. Ezra Millers multiple eyes look, this was one of my favorites due to the uniqueness and complex makeup that was involved. This showed how much thought went into this look, it was camp.
6. Lady gagas pink dress, this was 1/4 of her looks she changed into. Lady gaga always shows up with stunning outfits she never disappoints
7. Lily Collins brought Priscilla Presley and Sharon Tate along with Cher to life, and i loved it. Lily looked so breathtaking, this mixture was so perfect they all complimented each other.
8. Ciara´s elegant and thrilling look, her dress fit so perfect on her and her hair was absolutely incredible, everything about this outfit was incredible
9. Gemma Chans extraordinary headpiece and elegant dress both came together and made this stunning look
