100 Word Challenge

Hello everybody!  Today I am doing a 100 Word Challenge.  It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve done one.  Today I really tried to be creative and go for a spooky vibe.  This isn’t my usual writing style, but I was watching Knives Out(I love this movie) while writing this, and I felt inspired.  Happy reading.

It is a quarter till midnight with the color purple painted across the sky.  I am delivering a violin case directly to him in the alley behind the pawn shop.  I see a dark figure in the shadows and walk slowly towards it.

“I’m happy to see you here,” he says.

I want to deliver this case without any conflict, but my elephant senses can tell he has other motives.  I place the case on the ground and run.  I look in my peripheral view and see him chasing me.

“I have to kill you,” he shouts.

  1. Well done in taking on the challenge of writing in a different style. I hope you are happy with the outcome. I haven’t seen the movie that inspired you but I think you managed “spooky”. I loved how you made the sky purple; totally unexpected but paints such a great image. You’ve chosen good words that fit the genre; alley, dark, motives, shadows. I look forward to reading some more of your inspirations in the future.

    1. Hi Cath,

I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone because it encouraged you to write a comment. If you haven’t seen the movie knives out you really should! It’s a murder mystery based on the board game Clue. I feel so many emotions everytime I watch it and it inspired me to write something like this.

      Thanks for the support,
      Keeley Greer
