Examine the definitions of “prejudice” and “discrimination.” How are they similar? How are they different? Is prejudice ever appropriate? What about discrimination? If so, list some situations in which one should be demonstrated. Explain your reasoning.
Today I will be answering the folowing prompt on top, so to get started I am gonna tell you the definitions of Prejudice and Discrimination…. Prejudice: preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. Discrimination: the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex. So now that I have told you the definitions this post is going to be a lot easier to read. They are similar because they are both types of opinions because Prejudice is giving your opinion which is not backed up with evidence it id pretty much a guess and then Discrimination is mistreating another culture or race and to some people might think that may mean different things so they are both a type of opinion. They are different because Prejudice is a legitimate opinion and Discrimination is mistreating someone that is not like you badly beacuse they look, sound, or act differently. You can use prejudice when you are in trial because you can give your opinion without it having to be a fact. It is NEVER ok to do discrimination that is ABSOLUTLY horrible, if you ever see a VERY harsh verson of discrimination going on make sure you report it to a trusted adult. Thank you for reading 🙂
