Curiosity

By Sarah Malinowski

Curiosity is like the little kid in my head,
constantly asking questions.
As if I were a little girl,
hiking in an empty field.
Full of Luscious green grass,
that smelled like a dewy spring morning.
Standing in front of an unknown creature
I’ve never seen before.
Slowly walking towards it,
as my feet crunched on the gravel.
With goosebumps all over me,
like spiders on my body.

Now,
I wonder to myself,
all of the possibilities.
Pondering,
about what will become reality.
Curiosity is the never ending list in my head.
It’s the pilot controlling my mind,
as if I were a robot.
Leading me to new places.

Reflection

1.) I published my Emotion Poem.

2.) I chose this poem because curiosity is an emotion I experience every day.

3.) The tone of my poem is curios.

4.) The theme of my poem is that curiosity leads me to new places.

5.)

A) “Curiosity is like the little kid in my head”

This is a smilie. It contributes to the tone of the poem by comparing my curiosity and wonder to a little kids.

B) “It’s the pilot controlling my mind.”

This is personification. This contributes to my theme by explaining how my wonder leads me to new adventures.

6.)

Revision #1: I changed “animal” to “creature”

Explanatoion: I did this because I thought it brought a mysterious feeling to the sentence.

Reevision #2: I changed “actually happen” to “become reality”

Explanation: I thought “become reality” sounded more dramatic.

7.) It was very easy for me to write this poem because I’m a very curious person, and I used one of my experiences from when I was younger to help explain that emotion.

8.) I’m happy with the poem I created because, it is something that expresses how I felt and feel.
