Hey guys! My name is Gavin Baker and I am a junior at Champe. At school, I am involved in Deca and Key Club. Outside of school, I dance competitively at PowerWorx Dance. A few of my favorite things include going to the beach/lake, spending time with my friends and family, and going to concerts. I also enjoy going on sunset drives and scrolling through TikTok in my free time. When it comes to destressing, I can count on a trip to the gym and a celsius as they never fail to pick me up.

 

 

 

Hey y’all my name is Shay Keuhner and I am a senior and a second year PEER member. At John Champe High School you may see me on the lacrosse field or involved in the student council. I am also the Vice President of Best Buddies, Vice President of the Human Trafficking Awareness Club, and in two honor societies. Outside of school I love to go to the gym and spend time with my family and friends. A few of my favorite things include going to the beach, having bonfires, and going out to breakfast. I also am a lifeguard over the summer! I am so excited to start mentoring in PEER this year since we were restricted from meeting students due to virtual learning last year. I can’t wait to apply to colleges in hopes of getting into my dreaming nursing program.

 

Hello! My name is Eman Zabin. I am a hardworking, family-oriented Palestinian who strives to maintain a healthy school-life balance. Although I may not understand something the first time around, I don’t shy away from asking questions and investing the extra effort to get my desired results. My school experiences have been both positive and negative but I do my best to use them as opportunities to learn lessons and grow as a person. Everyday that I am in Champe, I feel that I play an active role in breaking negative stereotypes about Palestinians and Muslims in general. I don’t mind answering people’s questions and I want others to know that what I wear or where I am from does not limit what I can do. I don’t mind being the odd one out and I would rather maintain my individuality than fit in. At home, I spend most of my time with my family. We all have days when things get hectic but regardless of what happens, we always eat and spend some time together. I also enjoy working out, painting and reading to relieve stress.

 

Michael Bastawrous is a Senior at John Champe High School. Besides being an Honors Student and being on the National Honors Society as well as the National Honors Music Society at his highschool. Michael loves to play music. In addition to playing music Michael is a multi-talented professional musician that can play 7 different instruments professionally. In addition Michael was previously awarded Sound Engineer and Musician of the Year a few times. While in Michaels free time you can find him in his own Professional Recording Studio. Michael is very passionate about helping others especially those with special needs, and he always performs at Nursing Homes during the Christmas Season to help give them joy and make them feel loved. Michael, other than his huge love for music also loves Fashion. Michael previously was a 4 year contract professional model that traveled all around the United States. Finally, Michael was previously selected as student of the year for Loudoun County and raised over $387,000 in 7 weeks towards curing blood cancers and made an impact on the world by helping to cure blood cancers!

 

 

What’s up! My name is Evan Granahan, a senior here at John Champe HS! I play football and lacrosse (both sports I’ve been selected as captain), Vice President of the student section, (known as Champe Chaos). My hobbies include traveling, being out with friends, serving my community, and cooking! (I make a very delicious scrambled egg breakfast). I’ve always had a passion for serving others because I’ve always been a helper, from helping at food banks to even volunteering to coach a youth lacrosse team, being apart of the community and being able to teach and support younger kids to be great role models in their community really makes me happy!

 

 

 

Hey friends my name is Rafaela Rodriguez! I am a senior at champe! I am apart of Peer, Champe Chaos, SCA Vice president, and apart of the girls champe lacrosse team! Throughout the week I love to support my fellow classmates at their games and showing school spirit. Outside of school I love to hang out with friends and go out to eat, I also work at a daycare and love working with kids. I love to meet and get to know new people.

 

 

Hi friends, my name is Laila! I’m a senior this year a new member of PEER. I’m also SCA and Tri-M Music Honor Society President this year. I’m part of the Champe Girl’s Lacrosse team and JCHS Speech team. In my freetime I love playing guitar, hanging out with friends, reading, and going for runs. I’m super excited for school and so thankful that I get to have a senior year. I’m trying my best to make the most of the time we have not take any school day for granted. GO KNIGHTS!

 

 

Hey guys! My name is Alison Raedel and I am a senior member of PEER this year. One of my favorite parts of Champe is the community. We work hard to make sure everyone feels accepted. I play golf for Champe and I work with FBLA and the JCHS Booster Club. When I’m not at practice, I’m either working at Glory Days or I’m out with my friends. One of my favorite classes this year is my AP Human Geography class because we get to talk and I’ve met so many new people. I can’t wait to help mentor people and get to know everyone better.

 

Hi! My name is Harlowe and I am a member of PEER! At Champe, I’m involved in softball, Key Club, and Habitat for Humanity Club. In my free time, I enjoy playing COD and Rocket league with my brother on the weekends. A few of my favorite things include: watching movies, eating tacos, and relaxing on the couch. To relieve stress I watch sports, listen to music, and hang out with my family. When balancing school and life, I like to make a schedule and take breaks when needed. I am a huge believer of mental health days. I can’t wait for the rest of the year with you guys!

Outside of school I do competitive gymnastics and I love hanging out with my friends! When I’m stressed, I like to drive around with friends and listen to music! Hey guys! My name is Amy Cascio and I am a senior PEER member this year. At Champe I am involved with gymnastics and Champe Chaos. Outside of school I love hanging out with friends, working out, and going on coffee runs! Some of my favorite things include going to the beach, going to brunch with friends, and watching the sunset! When I get stressed, I like to listen to music and take a step back to focus on the present instead of worrying about whatever is making me worried. I am so excited to be a PEER mentor this year and cannot wait to meet all of you!

 

Hi guys!! My name is Ellie Spengler. I am a Junior PEER member this year! I love playing sports. I am a part of the Champe Field Hockey team and the John Champe girls Lacrosse team! I have three dogs and one cat. I LOVE animals! I also have three siblings, two older brothers and one younger sister. When I’m not at school you can see me hanging out with my friends, working out, or going on long drives listening to music!

 

Hey friends! My name is Maggie Molloy , I’m a junior and a new member of PEER this year! I am a part of PEER, Champe Chaos, Latin Honors Society, Math Honors Society, and the volleyball team here at Champe. Outside of school I love spending time with my friends and family, going to the beach, and working out. Hey guys my name is Kai Holden. I’m a senior at John Champe and this is my first year doing PEER. At Champe, I am involved in Key Club, Young Investors Society, and I also try to volunteer multiple times a month. During the weekends I work at a place called Funland, and if you haven’t heard of Funland it’s a place with things like go karts, laser tag, rock climbing walls, arcade, and a ropes course. In my free time I love working out and watching movies, and I’m one of the hugest marvel fans. I’m very excited to be apart of PEER this year and I’m looking forward to talking with all of you guys!

 

 

Hey y’all! I’m Alex Edmunds and I am a senior at Champe and a PEER Mentor. During my time at Champe, I’ve been involved in National Honor society, Key Club, Varsity Gymnastics, and National English Honor Society. To keep myself busy, I like to stay active, spend time with family and friends, volunteer, and eat delicious food. I like to think I’m a pretty funny person, an animal lover, and a good listener. To relax, I like to do yoga, cuddle my puppies, spend time outside in my hammock, and bake delicious treats. I can’t wait to meet you guys this year!
