COVID-19 may be a terrible pandemic where we can’t go to places, can’t hang out with friends, and where we may have lost loved ones. However, one should not engage in a negative thought process because of the pandemic. It’s good and healthy to have a positive mindset, and that can be thinking about all the benefits that one may have received from COVID-19. It may be challenging, but thinking of any gain from COVID-19 is better than thinking the contrary.
One common benefit that many people probably have gained is time. Time is valuable, and because of COVID-19, it appears that many people have gained more free time to do activities. These activities may include video gaming, sports, and many other hobbies that may or may not take time. Sometimes it may feel like there is nothing to do because of how much time we’re given due to COVID-19. One can take advantage of this nothingness by trying out new activities.
Furthermore, COVID-19 has taught us lessons such as good hygiene and technology. Washing your hands is essential, and previously, before this pandemic, some people didn’t put in effort in washing their hands after using the restroom. However, it’s not only hygiene that some may have learned, but it’s also technology. In schools, teachers have been using technology more than ever, and so too have the students. It’s great to have teachers learning technology because of this pandemic, and it’s also great that both sides are increasingly gaining skill in this territory. Learning is great, we learn through our mistakes, and we improve upon them.
In addition, COVID-19 has made people more aware or cautious of their surroundings; people tend to think more of their physical actions. One will probably not use the “5-second rule” in a restaurant or a fast food place anymore because you may not know if the person who was sitting in your seat last had the virus. As previously mentioned before, people appear to be putting in more effort in washing their hands, and they make sure they keep up with their hygiene. It may seem that these are negative outcomes, but; nevertheless, are positive outcomes because being aware is important regardless of what the situation is.
These are a few examples of the bright side of COVID-19. In an era where negative thought boils everywhere, it’s healthy to think positive. Some people may have more time, others have been more hygienic, and some have been more aware of their surroundings. These examples may seem small and unimportant, but in reality, that’s quite the contrary. Every positive action counts.
