Winter break blog!!

This winter break was long awaited but definitely too short. The first day consisted of a super exciting winter party with some of my closest friends. My friend Mia C. brought her GoPro and made a super cool montage that was so much fun to film! On the following day we surprised my friend Clara D. for her 15th birthday, she loved it. The next few days consisted of more events, such as a sweet 16 and Christmas parties. I didn’t take as many pictures as I had hoped but I’ll save that for spring break!

In the meantime here is a picture from a drive to D.C

Photo tips

When you log into any of your social media you always see people posting pictures of cool places they’re visiting or fun things they’re doing. In today’s blog I’m going to be talking about three tips for taking good pictures.

Tip #1: Find a nice background that makes you stand out. A flower field is a perfect place to take pictures on a bright sunny summer day.

on a winter/colder day the city works best!

Tip #2: Love the outfit you’re wearing when taking the picture. If you’re wearing something you feel confident in the chances are that your smile will shine through the image.

Tip #3: The golden hour is the prime time to take pictures 5-6 pm in the summer and in the winter it’s from 3-4 pm. The light is softer and your images turn a really pretty orange color that improves the quality. Natural lighting always works best.

I hope you use and enjoy these tips!

Different Cameras Captivating the World

In the world we live in today and with the level of technology we have it is amazing to see the types of images our phones and cameras can captivate. My friend Tara has the Rebel Canon T6s camera. When asked she says the camera allows her to capture clear images and has many extra features such as the blur effect. My other friend Ashley has the iphone X and she says it takes amazing pictures, some even better than a professional camera. “You can adjust the color or focus, it’s a really helpful feature” said Ashley. This shows that taking pictures is very easy and anyone can do it. Whether it be from a phone or professional camera anyone can take pictures, all you need to do is smile.

VSCO

VSCO is an app that allows anyone to express themself through images. Many professionals and teens from all around the country are using VSCO to enhance the appearance of an image. The pictures can have captions and they are open to be seen by the public. The app allows people to be creative and connect with a diverse group of people. VSCO has several features such as photo editing and journal tools. Within VSCO you can find different ways to edit a picture, it ranges from allowing you to increase exposure to adding contrast to the image. This app is not only a great tool to use but it provides everyone with an open platform to discover new ideas and become inspired.

Goth Gorls take on photography

Savannah is one of my good friends, and we share many classes together. Today during history class we had a mini photoshoot. Friends make taking pictures so much fun and they inspire me. I enjoy taking pictures of my friends and I, they take any ordinary situation and they make it unique and entertaining.

Savannah Nelson is 15 years old, and she recently dyed her hair black. She looks like Violet from the Incredibles.

Summer

It’s November, summer feels like it’s an eternity away. Pictures are one of the few things we have to hold onto summer. Midterms are rolling around and I promise you nobody is looking forward to that. To make your day a little brighter, here’s a place we’d all rather be.

The Start of Something New

When times get hard and life gets a little twisty its ok to stop and take a break. Recently that’s what I’ve been doing. We all do different things to help us calm down or focus on the positives in our lives. I enjoy taking pictures, with every click a beautiful image is captured. It helps me see how beautiful the world around me really is and how badly I want to explore it. Instead of looking at the negatives in my life it helps me see that times will get better and we will all get through this. The best is yet to come. Whether it be a beautiful sunny day or a gloomy Sunday morning, everyday is a beautiful day. Some days are better than others and some days are so bad you never want to look back.  Everyday is a growing experience and every picture that is taken shares a memory behind it, good or bad the memory can still be told because I am here to tell it. My blog posts will consist of photography and how it makes a change in my life. Today is a great day to make a change and capture it.
