My Why for Blogging

I blog to share ideas, thoughts, and experiences. Sometimes as an overly-excited person I have A LOT of ideas at once. I learned early that not everyone gets so excited as me in the moment. So I decided to blog. I decided to write about the ideas that excited me and led me to new adventures with my students.

I blog my thoughts because, let’s be honest, I’m an over thinker. I see the big picture and sometimes have a hard time with the smaller details, like what size paint brush I should you. So I write to clarify my thoughts, to organize my creative thinking, and to get feedback. I blog my reflections. How my day went working in a classroom, the dynamic. How a lesson with multiple tech-fails and how I can have back ups and most importantly acting like it’s no big deal– to get the teacher to not get frustrated. And sometimes it reflecting on the “light bulb” moments and the “Aha!”s by students AND/OR teachers. There is never a part of a lesson that I think went perfectly and there is always a part that the learning made my teaching soul happy.

I blog my experiences. With students, teachers, and staff. I blog the successes and I blog the humorous mishaps that often happen with technology. I blog about experiences because they are important for me to remember and reflect on time and time again.
