100 Word Challenge 3/17
Night shift in the gardens is the worst. It’s dark and quiet, which makes the sudden noise even more startling. Which is why when I heard metal clanking across the green, I practically jumped out of my skin.
It sounds like someone is- talking. Teenagers break in all the time, it’s probably just some of them.
As I get closer, I hear the metallic noise again. And as soon as I can see what’s making it, my jaw drops.
One of the garden statues stands on a bench, arms spread wide. “Ladies and gentleman, welcome to my show,” he announces.
As soon as I saw this statue, he reminded me of a ringmaster, a showman of sorts. So of course I was going to write about it. This was my 100WC for this week, thanks for reading!
– Grace 🙂
Dear Grace,
The tone in which you wrote your 100wc this week certainly has me nervous yet curious! Great job raising my anxiety to then turn it to wonder.
