Artwork: Night at Busch Gardens by Leo Pantas

Night at Busch Gardens (photography)

By Leo Pantas

Inspiration: A quote from a friend of the guy in the photo: “Living life just a little bit.” You’re already living life if you’re at an amusement park, but sometimes a small thing can be more memorable than a rollercoaster.

Meaning: Just rest, take it in. Don’t forget.

Artwork: Eat Cake by Isabella Villanueva

Eat Cake (pen, colored pencil, marker)

By Isabella Villanueva

Inspiration: I was inspired by other artists online to create a piece without using many designated “skin tone” markers.

Meaning: Don’t be afraid to add various colors into your work, these colors can make your art much more interesting.

The Painter of Autumn by Gursimran Randhawa

The Painter of Autumn

Gursimran Randhawa

The autumn has greeted me like an impressionist painting,

Like a kiss of departure on a summer Riviera shore,

Lyrics like the trace of the wheels on the stone road:

With every step forward, a more permanent goodbye.

The red and orange that taints the tips of the tallest trees

Melts into the frosting sky,

Seeping downward like fresh raindrops

Painting a final warmth

Before it is then denied:

Strokes of colours dancing in the wind,

And with a pirouette, they fall into the eye.

Autumn sunshine clings to the skin

Like honey

As leaves fly by.

The procession of winter proceeds

With earth still left to grieve,

So the flowers still lay

In the dull eternity

Of fall disarray.

Discovery (charcoal)

By Sydney Tamsett

Inspiration: I was inspired to create this piece because it helped me visualize my experience with art as finding the light at the end of the tunnel.

Meaning: I hope the viewer can relate to this piece as an expression of the discovery and appreciation of bright spots in life.

Artwork: Creature Feature by Alex Grant

Creature Feature (digital art)

By Alex Grant

Inspiration: People see monsters as the classics (vampires, witches, ghouls, ghosts, etc.) But I wanted to express how I view monsters.

Meaning: The spirit of Halloween may be joyful but there is always something lurking in the dark.
