Although there are many Battle of the Books clubs all over the country, Loudoun County Public Schools’ competition is unique. Founded by reading specialists Marilyn Clerkin and Betty Thomas in 2005, their decision to have a friendly competition between their book club students has blossomed into book clubs and an event that, in the 2018-2019 school year, includes 15 high schools, 3 Semi-Finals, and a Final Battle!
