Hi, and welcome back to a sane post.
I haven’t done the blogging challenges in a while, so I decided that I should probably do this one. (That’s a lie. My teacher actually just assigned us this post.) So, anyways, I’m just going to get right in!
Schools around the globe have always been, well, different. A few years back, I actually attended an international school over in Bangkok, Thailand. We were on the schedule known as “year-round school.” As horrible as that sounds, it’s actually a lot better, in my opinion. Summers would be shorter, yeah, but we would have a ton more short breaks sprinkled throughout the year. We also had a ton more freedom, but that might’ve just been because we all attended a fancy private school in a gated community.
However, I think this coronavirus thing really united how schools act around the world. Before quarantine actually happened, I remember joking around with friends and hoping school got shut down because we didn’t want to go to school. Now that it’s actually happened, I bet a lot of people wish they cherished school more. Don’t get me wrong, I’m perfectly happy being locked inside my house, but some people aren’t.
Now that schools around the world are all shut down, we’re all being forced to teach the exact same way: online. People who have never had anything in common before are now striking up friendships just by talking about their classmates and things they do during quarantine.
I don’t have much else to talk about, so that’ll be all! Stay safe!
