When I first started with this topic I only thought about how beneficial the robots would be in the workplace, like how they would increase efficiency and boost the economy. But when I started to research it more I found that robots may come with major drawbacks like an increase in the unemployment rate for humans.
Through researching I discovered how cobots, which are robots that work alongside humans, can greatly increase efficiency and help business and employees by eliminating the small repetitive tasks. An example of this would be the Lowebot introduced at Lowes that helps navigate customers to products in the store. This is a good example of evidence that proves that robots can be beneficial while not taking other employees jobs.
One blog post that I was drawn to was Britney’s “Unskilled Amateurs or Dangerous Hackers” Post. This initially stood out to me because it was a topic that not a lot if any people chose and was very interesting. The post was especially good because she provided evidence and examples from the article along with her own opinion.
One blog that I found myself returning to was Mason’s blog not only because of the layout and design but also because of the intriguing topic about prosthetics. The blog was eye-catching from the beginning with the background being a prosthetic hand, and the simplicity of the layout added to the overall theme. The topic and the posts were also very informative with specific information about biomedical engineering.
The comments were very helpful and they gave me a lot of inspiration for what to write about. One comment that stood out to me the most brought up the topic of robotics in the transportation industry. This comment was especially helpful because it brought up a topic that I didn’t think about, and it is something that I may do more research on and include in my paper. Overall the comments were only encouraging and it brought me satisfaction knowing that the readers were actually interested in the topic. Also seeing other peoples posts and how they were formatted gave me inspiration on how I should format my own posts.
Thank you, Alec.
