video analysis about robotics

This video helps to explain one of the main questions about my topic: will the future of automation and robotics in the workplace eliminate jobs for humans? The video explains how robots can work alongside humans doing the repetitive tasks and leaving humans to do the more complex tasks. They explain how so-called “cobots” work alongside humans and instead of eliminating jobs they eliminate simple tasks. The example from the video shows the “LoweBot” which is a robot at Lowes that helps guide customers. This helps prove my point of view that the development of robots in the workplace will be more helpful than harmful. However, the video did state that the advancement of robotics will account for “7% net jobs loss a year over the next decade.” This percentage also includes gain in robotics jobs. So to determine if the advancement of robotics in the workplace is beneficial the pros of the robots have to outweigh the inevitable job loss.

Alec this is a very interesting topic. I think robots replacing humans isn’t a “good” or “bad” thing, it is just the next step in society’s development. Eventually, all jobs may be replaced by robots, and that future could either be a utopia or a dystopia. Perhaps future generations will look back on us working jobs with pity, and real advancement happens in a post-work society.

Alec this is very engaging and readable topic. I think it’s scary to even imagine that in future most of the human’s jobs will be replaced by robots with effective and quick results. I guess that as science is advancing, if these jobs are taken by humans. Many other jobs are available for humans too. Because if we think critically it is the human who is controlling the robots.
