The theme I chose for my blog is called Argent, It is a modern and simplistic type of theme that best represents my topic of robotics and automation. It allows me to add a big background picture that covers the whole screen, but I kept the background blue so it’s not discrating and blue normally represents innovation and technology. As suggested in Everyone’s an Author when choosing a color based on what emotions they evoke “blue suggests spaciousness and tranquillity”(748). However, I will likely add photos to my blog posts in the future so the readers will have an easier time understanding and they will be able to associate what I’m writing about with a visual. I wanted a font that follows the rest of the theme of the blog, so I chose a sans serif font because “it gives a more modern look”(746). A more tradition serif font would take away from the overall theme of technology and modern advancement.
I really like your design of your site, it is very efficient in it’s spacing. I agree the blue promotes tranquility, but I do not understand why that is needed for robotics. Another thing I would consider is the idea that blue represents intelligence. Overall, great design and even better topic.
I like the simplicity of the design especially with the blue which is very feels very welcoming. However, I would change the secondary colors because some of the text is hard to read. For example the the grey letters and outlines are very hard to be read on this blue background. Also the black is not the easiest to read but it is not to critical. I would suggest using white letters because this background is dark enough to make them stand out. I think you have a great topic with lots of potential.
