Aidan's Baffling Blog

The ancient monolith stands in front of our team towering above us. The strong winds of the sea rush against our bare skin with enough force to physically push us back. A place of beauty has been transformed into a landscape of chaos. No one truly knows the origin of the tower but I believe that it came from the devil himself. When we approach the monolith the buzzing of electricity becomes more deafening as I put my hand on it to rest. Suddenly, the monolith breaks apart and shatters into dust to reveal the faint glow of a box…

“Oh my what a room!” my mother exclaimed. Dirty laundry, guitar picks, and that’s just a start. Trash spread across my floor like sand on a beach making it impossible to see the carpet. Red balloons from my birthday a month ago and some birthday candles too. Leftover Doritos, cake, water, and popcorn in my homemade buffet where does it end? My mother asks “Are you going to clean this up,” and I reply, “One man’s trash is another man’s gold.” She glances at me with fire in her eyes as I eat my chocolate out of my wicker basket.

My 100 Word Challenge

The man glides across the water, like a skater on ice.  The mushrooms wistfully whisper to the man about their past mistakes, but he must not look back.  The dock slowly floats into view as he begins to paddle faster.  Every second is an hour and every hour is day for every moment he is without Eurydice.  The boat arrives at the dock silently.  As he steps out the words of the gatekeeper yell in his head “One look back and she’s gone”, But he looks back and begins to weep as the wrinkled euridice leaves.
