Mixtape Pluto Album Review

Genre: Rap/Hip-Hop

Rating: 6/10

MIXTAPE PLUTO is Future’s third project of this year and also the 17th mixtape in his catalog. The mixtape doesn’t have any features, making this his first solo project of this year. After starting this year off with his critically acclaimed WE DON’T TRUST YOU, this new project proves to be slightly disappointing.

The entire mixtape consists of 17 songs with decent but similar production. A couple of highlights include “SURFIN A TSUNAMI”, which best displays Future’s R&B-style singing, and “SKI”, which displays one of Future’s best rapping performances on the whole mixtape. “LIL DEMON”, “TEFLON DON”, and “TOO FAST” are also good songs off of this mixtape.

However, this mixtape also features some lazy performances such as the entirety of “PLUTOSKI” where Future makes incoherent noises for half the song. He also has very boring, monotone flows on songs such as “AYE SAY GANG”. The main downside of this mixtape is that while most of the songs are solid, they all sound too similar to each other because of the unvaried production and flows. The mixtape also consists of songs that are less than two minutes, which seem unnecessary to even include in the first place. The mixtape is oversaturated to an extent.

Overall, this mixtape is okay, but it could have been much better.

  1. Thank you for this amazing post! 😀

  2. This is a really fair review. I would definitely define “euhhehhhhhhhehh” as an incoherent noise.
