Honeybee Creamery (Restaurant Review)

Summer is marked by its unforgiving heat, which makes it the perfect time to try out a new ice cream shop! Honeybee Creamery is one of Loudoun’s local treasures. The store started out as a chocolate store called Veritas Aziten Chocolate Company in 2017, until two years later, when the current owners purchased and rebranded it as Honeybee Creamery.

The store has two locations: Ashburn and Leesburg. Honeybee Creamery has a variety of flavors such as chocolate, heavenly hazelnut, moose tracks, cappuccino crunch, birthday cake, superman, and strawberry. (My personal favorite was heavenly hazelnut as I have a soft spot for chocolate). Their toppings include chocolate jimmies, M&Ms, and Reese’s Crumbles. The store also has sauces like peanut butter, chocolate marshmallow, and dulce de leche. However, these options are only a sample of the plethora of flavors, toppings, and sauces on the Honeybee Creamery’s menu.

Honeybee Creamery offers the option for you to order online and pick up your order from the location of your choice. You can write which flavor you would like under the “Special Requests” box on their website and an employee will scoop your desired flavors into a cup and keep it refrigerated until your arrival- with the exception of ice cream orders in cones.

I had the pleasure of visiting Honeybee Creamery’s Ashburn location several times this summer and have found each visit delightful. The store emits the vibe of a small and cozy town, transporting you away from the hustle of Ashburn to a quaint place where you can take a moment to enjoy the summer breeze and the simpler things in life! Honeybee Creamery offers a comfortable green-colored seating area inside as well as a few lawn chairs outside for you to enjoy your ice cream in the sun!

While there were a few flavors that I had ordered online but were unavailable when I came to pick up my order, I never found the lack of having a certain flavor to be a major inconvenience. An employee will happily substitute your order for one that is readily available at the store. If you are craving a certain flavor, my advice would be to call ahead and see if they have it.

Apart from ice cream, Honeybee Creamery sells milkshakes, cocoa bombs, and Italian ice. Honeybee Creamery also sells chocolate-covered strawberries, which make great gifts for birthdays and anniversaries!

Don’t miss out on tasting one of Honeybee Creamery’s scrumptious sweets! You can visit their website for more information here: https://www.honeybeecreamery.com
