Zero Waste Week!

Dear Academies of Loudoun Community,

We are thrilled to announce our first school-wide Zero Waste Week, taking place from April 8 to April 11! This exciting campaign is proudly sponsored by The Green Earth Club, ACL Green Team, and SCA.

A special shout-out goes to Andi Rounsley for producing the campaign video. Zero Waste Week

Additional recognition to our dedicated Green Team members— Octavia Williams, Deb Tripp, Clark Seipt, and of course, our SCA Raptor and Green Earth club students —for their tireless efforts behind the scenes.

We invite you to share the campaign video on your social media platforms, especially if you are a club sponsor. We plan to launch the video on April 1st.  During the week of April 8th, students and staff will have the opportunity to sign commitment cards pledging to reduce plastic use, minimize food waste, and recycle more. These cards will be featured on the bulletin board and monitors around the school.  Those who sign will receive commemorative stickers as a token of appreciation!

Let’s come together to make a difference and join NOAA’s Zero Waste Week Challenge (https://sanctuaries.noaa.gov/education/ocean_guardian/zero-waste-week/)  right here at the Academies.

Thank you for your support as we work towards a more sustainable future!
