The most fun class in AET Integrated Math is widely reputed to be Conic Sections Day. Students are first treated to a light-show representing the different conic sections, then taken outside to test their knowledge of how conic sections are utilized in daily life. Students use a miniature model of concentrating solar-thermal power technology to fixate the sun’s rays on their marshmallows. These flaming marshmallows are then added to graham crackers and chocolates to make s’mores. Yum!
