Students in Ms. Stone’s AP Environmental Science class enjoyed listening today to guest speaker Kiran Chandran, a professional structural engineer working for Black & Veatch. Mr. Chandran has a wide range of experience in leading several projects of varying size and complexity from proposals, design, bidding, procurement and construction. His experience includes leading structural teams for the design of water containing structures, deep tunnels, underground shafts, and several non-process structures. He is a Rope Access Level I (SPRAT) Technician with noteworthy experience conducting structural inspections and preparing evaluation and recommendation reports for several existing critical infrastructure, such as hydropower radial gates and water and waste-water treatment plant structures. Mr. Chandran has a MS focused in Civil Engineering (Structural) from Oklahoma State University and a B. Tech from National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India.
