midnight towers over me

it’s a strange galaxy i could get used to

breathe in deep

exhaust soaking my lungs

 

stars illuminating pinpricks of light

constellations fade as they come

the milky way is lost

but asteroids continue in their belt

 

the shelter of the night

invites me to be at rest

i am a lone comet eclipsed

by the brilliance of stars

 

they burst

in a single supernova.
