The Academies of Loudoun celebrated Dot Day this month!
Dot Day is an internationally designated day for September 15th. It is named after a book called The Dot, written by Peter H. Reynolds on the same day in 2003. In The Dot, a girl named Vashti becomes famous for drawing dots after she was encouraged by her teacher to draw just a little dot, as she wasn’t able to draw anything else.
The book emphasizes individual creativity, helping others, and taking pride in your work. At the Academies, we encourage students to emulate these traits and celebrated these qualities on Dot Day by making our own dots! Here are some of the great dot designs by our students.
