With everything that’s happened in 2020, an app designed to emotionally strengthen you may be what you need at the end of this long, long year. The app eQuoo is designed to do just that. It was proven by clinical trials to make users more emotionally resilient, become less anxious, and help them form better relationships. This app is designed to be played by all ages, so anyone of any age dealing with increased anxiety this year can benefit.
The app is fairly straightforward. After completing a short tutorial, users complete various levels, each level corresponding to a different emotional skill. For instance, emotional bids (actions performed to solicit the attention of others, a concept I hadn’t heard of before downloading this app) and generalizations (conclusions drawn based on limited amounts of information). Levels only take minutes to complete, so you can play the game for short amounts of time when bored, or play many levels in one sitting. The levels are designed similarly, and can start to feel a bit repetitive after a while, but if the app is played in short bursts, the redundancy of the levels isn’t as noticeable.
While there are other apps on the market related to mental health, such as meditation or virtual journaling apps, eQuoo is the first app of its kind to become this popular. Most apps designed to teach social and emotional skills are targeted toward young children, but this is the first app of its type to be enjoyable for all ages. None of the lessons eQuoo teaches are exactly life-changing, but it can be nice to be reminded of strategies we can implement to improve our life and relationships. And since it’s designed to reduce anxiety, isn’t it the perfect app to play in 2020?
