Today is the last day of the book club and my hole group was here. I had a couple questions that I asked including.

1. Do you think that the protest made a big impact on the nation, why or why not?                                                                                                                              A: Yes because kids when they all laid down and started saying the names of all the kids who were beaten and/or died because of the cops it made a big statement.                                                                              2. What do you think seeing Rashad did to Quinn, and what do you think he felt like when he heard, “Rashad Butler. Present?”                                A: I bet Quinn felt like he was doing the right thing and being a hero in his own way.

This meeting my group was absent so I was told to ask myself the questions that I was supposed to ask them.

1.  Why do you think that Rashad isn’t all in on the protest that was for him?
2. Why do you think that Rashad’s dad quit the police force? Does he have Secrets?

For my book club I am reading the book ‘All American Boys’ by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely. The book is told from two perspectives, Quinn’s and Rashad’s.

1.Today I asked my book club group (Rayan, Ryan, Prague and myself) if they thought the cop who be up Rashad did it off of racism or did he actually thought it was the right thing to do. Our discussion went both ways, at first I thought he did it because he thought it was right but as the talk went on I decided against it.

2.I also asked if everyone thought Quinn was a responsible person and I thought he was even though he does drugs because he takes care of his brother. We really didn’t get time to answer this one.

“All American Boys” is a great novel written by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely and is also the best realistic fiction book I have ever read. It is told by 2 perspectives, Rashad’s and Quinn’s. Rashad gets in a situation with the cops and Quinn sees him getting beat up by a cop which he personally knows. What happened Rashad starts a protest and Quinn is forced to take sides.
