My book club book was Trapped by Michael Northrop. Trapped is about a bunch of highschool peers who are snowed in to Tattawa high school. In this book, they have to work together to try to rescue themselves because no one knows they are stuck in the school. I thought this book was very interesting because I enjoy survival fiction stories. The book had many good cliffhangers that left me on the edge of my seat. One of those cliffhangers included the ending, which never fully explained how the other students escaped. I liked how the book stayed realistic on how they survived. They had to melt snow as a source of water, many suffered from hypothermia, and there was limited food supply. I would recommend this book to people who like survival fiction and a generally long book that is 232 pages. This book is isn’t too old, it was made in 2011. I rate this book a 4 1/2 because although many parts were exciting and interesting, a lot of the book moved slow and I felt like there was some unnecessary parts in the book. In the most part the book was very good. It taught the reader responsibility skills and tolerance. The details were very descriptive and created good visuals and interesting characters. I didn’t like how the ending didn’t have very clear closure. It was vague on how the other students escaped, or if they did at all. I also felt like how the snow storm happened and they got trapped was not very realistic. But, overall is was a good read!
