Tony Bennett emphasizes how college basketball is “not in a healthy spot”. He explains the lack of unity, the need for change in regulations, and the mental health effects of NIL, which can all have a huge effect on athletes performance on the court. Ultimately, this video helps me further reach an answer to my question, by validating that coaches are not responding well to the “new way” of college basketball; hence, losing successful coaches who have been in the program for decades. Coach Bennett states, “This is a place that will not compromise and do it the right way”. Which explains that the NCAA is not handling NIL in an appropriate manner and doesn’t plan to do so, creating little hope for the future of college basketball.
